However, unknown to him, the bag contains the chit-fund money. With this in mind, Dharmadurai takes his old clothes and bag and leaves for Madurai. One day, fed up of his antics, the brothers plot to kill him, however, Pandiyamma overhears her sons and helps Dharmadurai to escape from the outhouse in the middle of the night, advising him to leave the house for good and lead a good life far away from his brothers. The only people who sympathise with Dharmadurai are his mother Pandiyamma ( Raadhika) and his close friend Gopalaswamy ( Ganja Karuppu).

Barring a few scratches, like the few out of place lip-synchronisation issues, the director delivers a neat work. The movie unfurls itself at a slow pace but it is steady and justified. The plot loses its strong grip here and there but in no way does it lose its way. Yuvan’s music is apt and a few songs are hum-worthy, especially Andipatti.Īlthough the editing lacks crispiness at places, it does not seem like a crying issue. The aerial shots of Vaigai Dam stand out and are smartly used in a rural backdrop. If you are someone who misses the lush green scenery and serenity of a village, Sukumar’s work will surely make you feel nostalgic. The visuals paint a beautiful picture of the rural life. The supporting cast of Aishwarya Rajesh, Srushti Dange, Ganja Karuppu, Rajesh and MS Bhaskar deliver it right. Tamannaah is sincere in her portrayal of her role.
Her scenes gather claps on many occasions. Radhika Sarathkumar proves the fact that you give her any role with enough substance and she will light up the screen with her fine performance. Vijay Sethupathi excels as Dharmadurai and his performance is natural. They don’t look forced and are pleasantly natural. The execution of these instances deserves special mention. The director has sprinkled many moments that make us smile unconsciously. The film moves forth with a screenplay that spreads a lot of positivity. What is the impact of these episodes?
